At first glance I really liked the look of these boots. They are good looking, and very warm too.
However!… a few design issues really let these boots down imo.
1. The synthetic faux leather collar at the top of the boot (pictured). These are infuriating as they squeak all day when walking around. Just use leather, like on most of the other high end boots
2. The heel seemed higher than normal which made walking seem awkward.
3. The only option with the top lace hook is for it to be threaded through as the hook is not open. This means that you have to properly lace up, and unlace your boots every day, twice a day. With an open lace hole you can just unhook when you want to take your boots off or on.
These are my 9th or 10th pair of CATs. I have always had Spiro before but had these for a change as I was bored of the same boots. The above issues became really annoying day to day, especially the squeaking from the fake leather collar at the top of the boot.
Do better please CAT, these could be an excellent boot, if you hadn’t cheaped out and put a bit more thought in.
I have worn the boots at work everyday for two and a half weeks, the material around the ankle is still very hard.
Covering 12,000 steps a day the hardness has resulted in painful blisters.
I am preserving as the boots look tough enough to last but it is worth mentioning the comfort is not straight away out of the box.
This is my second pair of these. Great value for money and good waterproof boots. My laces went before the stitching this time but that was them over 6 months old and they get a lot of abuse.
Nice boots only issue received wide fit when no mention of the fit was in the advert would have ordered standard fit if had a choice. You would assume standard was standard unless wide was stated as an option.
Time will tell on how waterproof they are .
